Pond Cove Elementary School, a thriving school serving over 550 students in grades K-4 with a dedicated team of 100 staff members, is proud to uphold a culture of excellence and high academic standards. We are currently seeking a dynamic and positive PE Teacher to join our team. This role is ideal for an individual with high expectations for themselves and their students, who is passionate about promoting health, wellness, and physical fitness among young learners.
The successful candidate will work closely with our dedicated Allied Arts staff to develop and implement engaging, hands-on physical education lessons that cater to the diverse needs of our students. In this role, you will design, deliver, and assess a range of activities that foster motor skills, teamwork, and overall well-being. Additionally, you will supervise and support students during PE classes, recess, and other physical activities, ensuring a safe, structured, and inclusive environment.
In collaboration with colleagues across multiple disciplines, including school counselors, special educators, and administrative staff, you will contribute to creating a vibrant community where physical education is celebrated as an integral part of the overall educational experience.
Certification Requirements
Maine Physical Education Teaching Certification (or proof of pending certification)

Preferred Experience/Training
- Experience in teaching physical education
- Training in injury prevention

- Experience with community-building initiatives and promoting social-emotional wellness through physical activity
