Mathematics Teacher

Qualifications Maine Department of Education Certification, 300 Mathematics (7-12) or Vocational 921 Integrated Math & CHRC

Work Year:  Part-time 17.5 hours/week

Work Day:  to be negotiated with the Director

Requirements:

• Maintain or obtain Maine Department of Education Certification in 7-12 Mathematics
• 3 Years of High School Mathematics teacher preferred
• Appreciation of and understanding of the role of technical education

Job Goal:

1. To provide direct instruction as well as oversight and management of dual enrollment and online Tech Math courses for students who attend Waldo County Technical Center.
2. Prepare and instruct lessons for the various levels of mathematics, including on-line learning applications, as needed/requested.

Responsibilities:

1. Availability to co-teach with technical instructors modeling numeracy strategies.  (Schedule to be determined by instructor and director)
2. Be available to meet with all teachers periodically to develop and discuss numeracy strategies.
3. Will provide support to teachers already employing numeracy strategies to increase effictiveness.
