The Madawaska School Department serves students in grades PreK-12 in Madawaska, ME, the most Northeastern town in the United States, and one of the stops on the SCMA Four Corners Tour.  The district has two (2) schools, the Madawaska Elementary School (PreK-6) a 2000-01 Nationally recognized Blue Ribbon School, and Madawaska Middle/High School (7-12), the 16th Ranked High School in Maine, according to the US News and World Report

Position Purpose:

The Title IA Educational Technician III provides instructional support and assistance to students in a Title I program, which aims to help students meet state academic standards. The role involves working closely with classroom teachers to deliver supplemental instruction, monitor student progress, and implement interventions for identified learners.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Provide small group and individual instruction to reinforce and supplement classroom lessons in reading, math, and other subject areas as needed.
  2. Develop and implement instructional activities, games, and exercises to support student learning and engagement.
  3. Administer informal assessments, collect data, and maintain accurate records of student progress and performance.
  4. Collaborate with classroom teachers to identify student needs, develop instructional plans, and implement appropriate interventions.
  5. Assist in the implementation of behavior management strategies to maintain a positive and productive learning environment.
  6. Prepare and organize instructional materials and resources for lessons and activities.
  7. Supervise and monitor students during classroom activities, transitions, and testing situations.
  8. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance instructional skills and knowledge.
  9. Attend and participate in staff meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and other school-related activities as required.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned by the classroom teacher or school administration.

 Certification/License

  • Maine Educational Technicial III Certification (Bachelor's Degree or Educational Technican III Credential Program Required)
    • Willing to work with any individual on acquiring the necessary certification. 
  • Maine Criminal History Record Check (CHRC) Required



Education

  • Associates or Bachelors from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment preferred.


 Experience

  • Successful prior special education Educational Technician experience for the appropriate grade levels preferred.
