Description

Falmouth High School is seeking a dynamic School Counselor to join our team starting in the 2024-2025 school year. This counselor will provide a wide range of services for students including academic advising, college planning, and career counseling. Our approach is student-centered, relationship-focused, and designed to empower students with the tools they need to be successful in their future endeavors. This position will focus primarily on working with our 9th-grade class, aiding in their transition and orientation to high school. A key element of the role involves teaching our quarter-length seminar program. Additionally, this individual is an important member of our Student-Centered Team (SCT), which meets weekly to identify at-risk students in need of additional support.

  • Is passionate about working with students and has a genuine concern for their academic growth and character development
  • Is a team player who is positive and enjoys working collaboratively 
  • Has strong oral and written communication skills 
  • Can juggle multiple responsibilities and prioritize effectively
  • Is aware of state and national standards and is committed to creatively addressing them with students
  • Is culturally competent and committed to equity in their practice as a counselor


Qualifications:

  • Must hold (or be eligible to hold) the required certification - 075 School Counselor
  • Experience preferred.
  • Approved background check (run by the district).
