Description

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our staff at Nobleboro Central School. Our school is committed to providing a supportive, inclusive learning environment where all students can succeed. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with students with diverse learning needs and the ability to develop individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's strengths and challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Provide direct instruction and support to students in both pull-out and push-in settings
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, specialists, and staff to ensure the successful inclusion of students in general education classrooms
  • Use a variety of teaching methods and strategies to engage students and address various learning styles and needs
  • Monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed to ensure that each student is meeting their goals
  • Communicate regularly with parents, caregivers, and staff to support students' development and address any concerns
  • Participate in professional development and stay current on best practices in special education
  • Foster a warm, encouraging environment that promotes independence, resilience, and confidence in students

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field
  • 282 certification in Special Education (or eligibility for certification)
  • Experience working with K-8 students
  • Strong knowledge of IEP development and legal compliance
  • Ability to differentiate instruction and provide accommodations and modifications to meet individual student needs
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
